International Deaf Emergency (IDE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with UN ECOSOC Consultative Status and a strategic partnership with the World Federation of the Deaf. Founded in 2010 by Emmanuel Jacq following the Haiti earthquake, IDE works to protect deaf and hard-of-hearing communities in emergencies worldwide through disaster risk reduction, advocacy, and emergency response. IDE is aligned with the UN Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030.
