By accessing or using ideafe.org (“the Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About IDE

International Deaf Emergency (IDE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 27-3191911) incorporated in the United States. Our mission is to protect deaf and hard-of-hearing communities in emergencies worldwide.

2. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its infrastructure.
  • Transmit spam, malicious code, or any harmful content.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any organization.

3. Donations

All donations made through this Site are processed by Stripe and subject to Stripe's terms of service. IDE is a 501(c)(3) organization — donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  • Refunds: Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe an error occurred, contact us within 30 days at donate@ideafe.org.
  • Recurring donations: Monthly donations may be cancelled at any time by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the next billing cycle.
  • Tax receipts: You will receive a donation receipt via email. Keep this for your tax records.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by International Deaf Emergency or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

5. Disclaimers

The Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. IDE makes no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or availability of content. Crisis map data is provided for informational purposes and should not be relied upon as the sole source for emergency decisions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IDE shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.

7. Third-Party Links

This Site may contain links to third-party websites. IDE is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those sites.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
